What to expect in an appointment
In general this is how the first visit works in our office. I first compile an extensive case history. Then I perform specific orthopedic and neurological tests as well as execute the complete Gonstead Protocol to help me determine the next course of action. With these test results I determine if I will be able to provide help. In cases where I can help (happily the majority) X-Rays are needed (if I cannot help I will refer you out). The X-Rays will be taken in our office in the standing weight bearing position. Then I will analyze the films and match my findings in the exam and information from the case history to the findings on the X-Rays. The X-Ray films are a blue print of your skeletal system’s structural condition and usually reveal one or several joint subluxations. The X-Rays results in conjunction with the other findings will allow me to precisely pinpoint then correct the joint disorder by specific adjustments excluding rotational manipulation (in other words with out any twisting of any area).
The Gonstead Chiropractic Method has its origins in mechanical engineering and combines the science, philosophy and art of body biomechanics with the detection and reduction of neurological compromise associated with joint subluxation. The emphasis is placed upon the diagnosis and treatment of subluxated joints through criteria outlined in the Gonstead Method to achieve our goals of healing. My adjustment style is fairly light meaning I accomplish our goals with out causing more unneeded soreness beyond what is necessary. Through this light adjustment method I feel confident to see patients of all ages, including babies and the osteoporosis sufferers. My goal is simple, “Make sure I can help the patient, correct the problem and then ensure it doesn't come back anymore.”
